Lost Souls Specific Terms and Acronyms
Roughly human-like creature; see 'help anthrope' in-game
A courtesy announcement that someone is using area attacks that may affect bystanders wandering through, most commonly seen on the OOC channel
Amulet of Life Protection, an item that attempts to save your life if you are about to die. See also LP.
Similar to a guild, but where normally a character can only belong to one guild, there is no inherent limit on the number of associations one can join
The 'oversoul' or user account that your incarnoi are attached to. One atman/account can have a large number of incarnoi/characters attached to it. Plural: atmai.
A technical term, normally used only by developers, for a non-player character. Contrasts with incarnos. Plural: autonomoi.
Standard Lost Souls unit of volume, equal to a liter, which is slightly more than a quart
Bezhuldaar, or 'beholder'.
Chaos Infusion, Chaos Infused
A mini-quest that Travelers can bestow upon others. Challenges involve an obstacle (e.g. unluckiness) and a goal (e.g. gain experience). Players eagerly seek challenges because their successful completion bestows rewards.
Combat meditation, a hidden skill
Conceptual navigation, an occurrence of teleportation
Standard Lost Souls unit of mass, equal to a kilogram, which is about two and a fifth pounds
Standard Lost Souls unit of distance, equal to a decimeter — ten centimeters, about four inches — making someone 15 dimins tall slightly under five feet and someone 18 dimins tall slightly under six feet

Emodeleteatman because one is so very martyred by some transitory inconvenience one has suffered. The behavior appears in many contexts, and is probably best known by the term 'ragequit', but the term 'emodelete' was first coined on Lost Souls by Erebus.

To disincarnate and incarnate. There is a reincarnate command that will do this all at once. Sometimes developers may instruct you to reincarnate in order to debug issues or update code; this is what they mean.
The act of disincarnating and then reincarnating again. Often to check to see if a brief problem is fixed, or to benefit from a new change. Not really a LS specific term, but used often in LS.

So I Can Keep. Items kept by one of your incarnoi cannot be kept by another.. To get around this, you can do a "SICK trade" with another atman. (e.g. Trade your unkeepable pibrit with another player's keepable pibrit.) (Not really used in modern interactions but could be useful for those wondering what an oldie is talking about)

v. (to be Yogged, to get Yogged) To have multiple souls sucked out of you via Yog-Sothoth's special ability. This can lead to involuntary permanent character deletion.
v. (Yogging around the mud) To make use of the ELF ability to invoke Yog-Sothoth in order to rapidly transit to various locations around the mud.

May also indicate a new thing which is still popular due to novelty, or something which is perceived to be 'best' due to pluralistic ignorance.
