  • There are two types of lantern.
  • They come in a variety of different materials, which have no bearing on their type.
  • They either increase or decrease the illumination level of a room while they are lit.
  • While lit, they are considered to be carried by you and are visible to those who look at you, though they do not occupy any equipment slot that I can identify.
  • They will gradually consume oil while lit and need to be refilled.
  • flasks of oil are obtainable at most supply shops, such as Grog's.

Lantern of Illumination

An ordinary-looking lead lantern, of good quality.  It has a cloth wick and a small hole to pour oil into.  You appraise it at thirty gold.
It looks about one and a tenth dimins across, two and a tenth dimins long, and a twentieth of a dimin thick.
It weighs about four and one hundred forty-three four-hundredths dekans.  It is full.

An ordinary-looking tarnished copper lantern, of good quality.  It has a cloth wick and a small hole to pour oil into.  You appraise it at twenty-eight gold.  
It looks about one and a tenth dimins across, two and a tenth dimins long, and a twentieth of a dimin thick.
It weighs about three and eight hundred eighty-seven two-thousandths dekans.  It is full.
