	The 'Northlands' is a term used to describe the predominantly unexplored, and presumedly uncivilized, region to the north of Almeria It can be reached by any of the three passages through the Worldspine. The regions has no centralized government, and only remnants of colonization by the Altrian Empire. What few semi-civilized areas in the Northlands that have been discovered are extremely isolated, insular, and self-regulated. The main resources of the region are the wood from the dense forests of conifers, the pelts of the plentiful fur-bearing animals (most of which have grown to immense sizes), and a variety of herbs and magickal reagents (notably fresh moss and black sand).
