It has been brought up that, despite rabid enthusiasm for the development of Amber, it would be more thematic to open up the Courts of Chaos first. Any other opinions on the matter?--Bladestorm 12:56, 24 March 2009 (EDT)

I would love to see the courts of chaos up first for obvious reasons and it would fit the theme of the series it is based on. However I would think that the courts may be even more challenging to code due to gravity, light, densities, and other factors being so chaotic there. Coding Amber first may be more resonable with respect to difficulty. We could fit this to a theme if it might be easier to shadow walk to amber from Almeria/Prime than it would be to travel to the Courts. On the other hand we already have the Exoma available. Difficult question to answer.

Not necessarily. You may have noted that 'k' is internally aliased to 'kata', which is a fourth dimensional direction. Almeria has an X and Y axis. Avalon has X, Y and Z. The Exoma and Courts of Chaos would have W, X, Y, and Z coordinates. Once the directional portion is finalized, it's just a matter of setting up the landscape and answering the same questions I posed in the Amber talk section.

Compared to Avalon, how big the Courts? What terrains will be encountered? What lifeforms are indigenous to the Courts that are not found elsewhere? What lifeforms are found in the Courts that are also found in another shade somewhere? Who are the major personalities that will need to be included? Are there any special armour, weapons, or items? Are there any items currently located in other projects that should be moved over to the Courts? What is there to eat? Are there any specific materials found in this plane and nowhere else? Are there any special atmospheric, gravitational, lighting, or conditional effects? How does one access this plane/how is access to the plane barred? What audience would this plane be geared towards? Once it is released, what kind of players are going to be using this plane as their hunting zones? What guilds/associations are to be added into this project? What future projects need to be accounted for when initially setting this up? What creatures are Rangers going to try to take as familiars, and how will this affect the balance of other Ranger familiars? What guilds will find this plane beneficial, and which will find it adversarial (some may be blatantly obvious, but all guilds must be considered, e.g. How would a aisenshi and a Red Mage fare in the Courts)? Are there any guilds/associations which should be worked on to be released shortly after this project is released?

The Courts would of course be more difficult. Amber has next to nothing already associated with it. The Courts already have the Exoma, all of the chaoswares, and a handful of internal projects already linked and re-routed to be accessible. It might be time consuming (but what project isn't), but the possibilities are drawing closer.--Bladestorm 16:03, 24 March 2009 (EDT)
