   In the centuries following the fall of Istax, rumors of horrific monsters
roaming the jungles ran rampant.  They spoke the Lzkragathkoi, reptilian
beasts reminiscent of the Sleklith of the old empire, with wicked horns and
gruesome visages who would prowl the waterways of Tenochlan for prey.

   Modern scholars often dismiss these tales as mythology born from a
xenophobic fear of the Sleklith people following the collapse of the Istax
Empire, and link the so-called Lzkragathkoi to lingering hysteria over the
rise -- and destruction -- of a Cult of Kragath in Quetlatl.
