Sand Worm

A deadly worm that stalks Ebirian sands. Someday, it will be moved to Akalahai. It's also possible its larval form, the "sand trout", will be added. Perhaps a bond to it. (Dune-lore-wise).

  • As it moves, it secretes melange.
  • It can travel underground through the solid earth rooms.
  • It is composed of unique materials, such as aikeed, its hide, halenth, its flesh, and ysmair, its teeth.
  • It has melange blood.
  • Its corpse contains a medium randload hoard, of a rather poor rarity, as well as "a small mountain of gold coins" and a whole lot of melange lumps: one corpse revealed 28 (27?).
  • Need research on if it can be scried through a nickname.
  • Seems to be intangible? (or does it have a special method to traverse the solid earth rooms?)
    • It can be tracked via the Seismometron. It will shake more and more powerfully as you get closer. "vibrates strongly --> vibrates powerfully" were two out of several recorded messages.
    • The Seismometron's last dial position is kept even if you pick it up.
    • When the sand worm dies, the Seismometron does not vibrate anymore until it respawns (it gets stuck at "The copper dial on Seismometron begins to twitch slightly.").
    • It only works in Ebiria.
This gargantuan brown creature is composed of several huge armored
segments with a great maw on one end. Its mouth is circular and lined with
rows of razor-sharp teeth; an occasional burst of flame erupts from inside it.
It looks about sixty-three and a half dimins across and three hundred
twenty dimins long.
   It is in good shape.
Its limbs are named mouth, first segment, second segment, third segment,
fourth segment, and tail. Sand worm was created by Crylos, Hassan, Chaos, and
Erebus and is maintained by Chaos, Crylos, and Ambidexter; the source code was

After a moment, the knowledge that the sand worm corpse is composed of
eighty-two percent halenth, twelve percent aikeed, four percent melange, one
percent fire, and less than one percent pyralar drifts into your mind like a
long-forgotten memory.
(typical Seismometron usage)
You drop Seismometron.
The copper dial on Seismometron begins to twitch slightly.
The copper dial on Seismometron vibrates.
The copper dial on Seismometron shudders slightly and continues to point
steadily to the southeast.
(it continues to repeat the latter two messages while you are in the room and perhaps when alone by itself?
