Trait Category: Vocal
Trait Type: Definition
One's speech pattern is a mostly cosmetic trait that affects, naturally enough, the appearance of one's speech. All speech
patterns affect the verbs used for speech; for example, whether one 'says', 'states', or 'sez' a statement, or 'asks', 'inquires',
or 'axes' a question. Some speech patterns also alter the spoken content itself; for instance, the reptilian speech pattern
stretches sibilant sounds, while the flat speech pattern removes emphasis. If one's race has an associated speech pattern, these
latter alterations generally continue to affect one's speech even if the speech pattern primarily being used changes.
Development Information: The speech pattern trait was created by Chaos and is maintained by Lost Souls; the source code was last
updated Tue Feb 26 00:27:16 2013.
