"Gajananam, bhootganadhisevitam kapitthya, jamboo phalcharu bhakshanam, umasutam shokvinashkarakam, namami vighneshwar padpankajam!"
"I bow to Ganesha, the elephant-faced deity, fond eater of wood apples and rose apples, son of Parvati, destroyer of sorrow. Salutations to Lord Ganesha, the one with a lotus-like foot!"
[ Ganesha ]
[ Type : ] god [ Portfolio : ] gateways, freedom of movement [ Disposition : ] inscrutable but not hostile [ Offerings Desired : ] lotus flowers [ Spirit Point Cost : ] fifty to one hundred [ Requirements to Invoke : ] worship Ganesha; or have at least 100 points among theology skill, arcane lore skill, 40% of meditation skill and 40% of manipulation skill [ General Information : ] Ganesha is a serene and potent deity who, while in no way inimical, can be difficult to obtain assistance from, as he is reported to disregard most invocations. Obtaining said assistance is generally considered to be worth the effort, though, as the aid of the Remover of Obstacles can be invaluable. Ganesha is known to grant a brahmanda-prakasa, a cosmic aura of high potency, to those who offer him a kazar blade.
Spoiler warning: information below includes details, such as solutions to puzzles or quest procedures, that you may prefer to discover on your own.
Invoked outside of combat, Ganesha gives a number of possible boons:
- Unlocks doors adjacent to the invoker
- Allows the invoker to pass guards who would otherwise stop her.
- Surrounds the invoker with the scent of wildflowers -- this can remove certain disabilities from the invoker - slowing effects, stuns, etc...
- The wildflower aura also removes item curses, allowing one to remove or drop cursed rings, loadstones, cursed phylacteries, etc...
Invoked in combat, Ganesha can cause the invoker's opponent's to put away their shields.
A good enough Ganesha invocation will also give the wildflower aura to people who you've befriended and your pets. Great insurance for parties.
