Problems with empathic bonds, the Zetesai, and the Verynvelyrae
Please report them here. Thanks. Msb 16:46, 27 January 2010 (EST)
Small typo in the bond info when the familiar is dead: "Tempest has suffered grevious injuries and is being reconstituted..." s/grevious/grievous--Kaballah 11:18, 15 February 2010 (EST)
Verynvelyrae
Elicat resources
When I reincarnate my elicat VV, her current Holy resource value drops 16.6 points for no reason I can see, it's not modified by any items and is well below maximum (90 of 166 e.g.). The Extropic current value does not change. I don't mind losing the current amount if that's what you want it to do, but the fact that they don't behave the same has me thinking that one of them is a bit bugged.--Kaballah 07:05, 16 February 2010 (EST) You're probably getting some sort of chakra-related bonus to vitamancy or something that is being deapplied/applied. This sort of thing is really annoying to track down, even harder to fix, and I almost never do it, but someday if I'm feeling particularly masochistic I'll check it out. - it's not really a big deal, people don't generally reinc every 5 minutes anyway --Kaballah 11:21, 16 February 2010 (EST)
- I notice that as of now, when you pet the elicat and your maxima are increased, and then you charge both resources to full, if you pet the cat again to refresh the buff, the maxima are reduced and then increased again, and some energy is lost. I don't know if you want to fix that or maybe it's even intentional as a lameness-reducing mechanic.--Kaballah 01:13, 17 February 2010 (EST)
Heron special combat maneuvers
I don't think these are working, when I do 'show attack rating with brush' I get "You do not seem to be able to use that maneuver at this time.". The attack is not suspended, and I have a sword equipped, and the familiar is in the area. I do get a damage rating for it. I don't think it fires in combat either, asside from the attack rating return.--Kaballah 05:16, 17 February 2010 (EST)
- I also suspended every attack but just those two (Sword Slap and Brush), and they still didn't fire.--Kaballah 05:46, 17 February 2010 (EST)
- Occurs to me that this is probably related to my anatomy (suzumei).--Kaballah 11:13, 17 February 2010 (EST)
- This is caused by sword size (requires medium only)--Kaballah 13:49, 18 February 2010 (EST)

Call Familiar
Looks like the syntax for this collides with stormlord call lightning.
concentrate on calling my familiar vs. concentrate on calling lighnting down upon <target>
can you describe in more detail what happens? Msb 21:13, 8 February 2010 (EST)
It executes both abilities when you try to call lightning.
command: concentrate on calling lightning down upon foo
What foo? You have no familiar identified by 'lightning down upon foo' that you can call in this manner. Gargoyle 06:36, 9 February 2010 (EST)
okay after looking into it, believe it or not, this is a quasi-deliberate feature of thought process keys. it's supposed to be a fully general mechanism. so if you have two things keyed to "visualize a square", then they will both happen. but in this particular case it's kind of weird that they should both be keyed, since there is some semantic ambiguity... i'll look into changing the syntax for one of them (probably stormlord to "bring" the lightning or something). Msb 09:01, 9 February 2010 (EST)
There was a similar interaction between the Send charm and the Fetch wild talent. "Concentrate on sending my familiar to safety" would send the familiar to safety and also give a message like "You do not have a my familiar to safety." I don't have that character anymore though. I didn't use the Fetch sending much so I don't remember if that popped a message about not having a familiar identified by 'whatever'. --Fruri 10:57, 9 February 2010 (EST)
Kinsee
This shows you the familiar's surroundings regardless of whether the familiar can actually see (e.g. heron has no night vision, but the charm works in dark rooms where it can't see to fight). If you're actually supposed to be seeing through the familiar's eyes, then I don't think this is how you want it to be working.--Kaballah 05:12, 17 February 2010 (EST)
