The rune bzaan, while activated, makes you completely insensitive to pain. While this keeps pain from interfering with your ability to function, it also keeps pain from serving its purpose, which is making you aware of injury; evaluating the state of your health becomes a matter of some difficulty without it, relying mostly on visual inspection.
