The dofleinin are a mysterious race of mostly solitary cephalopods, generally found deep in the ocean. Carnivorous in nature, they are known to be inquisitive and intelligent, often seeming to play with their food while it's still living. A dofleini can change their coloration dramatically, and with relative ease, but each specimen typically reverts to a baseline appearance after a short while.
