The only real info that can be found about joining the glomerates is in a random load book called Nihilgenesis, by Marcus Lucretius Maro.

The book is in Caladan so you'll need decent skill in it (close to 40) and literacy to be able to read it.

The book itself is vague but gives a lot of hints regarding the use of your powers as a glomerate.

There are very rare 'vellum/parchment scrolls' (not the read-aloud kind) that have individual spell descriptions on them: it's theorized that this is not a list of all spells.

Joining

To join you'll need to first find a non-descript silver ring set with a harlequin opal.

You'll need a free point in WIL for Ektilaturgy.

You will also need to read the book Nihilgenesis.

You'll need to be able to "wear" the ring, so exceptionally large characters may have issues joining.

If you are too large you may be able to have the ring resized by Celebrimbor or Puzzled by an aligned.

Once you have the ring, say 'EX NIHIL SUM' in Caladan while holding or wearing it.

Leaving

To leave you will need to have the Ring in your posession, held or worn, and then say 'IN NIHIL SUM' in Caladan.

Your benefits will be stripped, and soon after your connection to Void will collapse.

Beware that you will not be able to join back until a certain time period has passed.

It seems that you can get kicked out forcefully out of the association.

The Ring

  This is an exquisitely-crafted ring composed out of a single smooth piece of
   silver.  It reflects and absorbs the light oddly, sometimes casting back glints
   of dazzling color, sometimes gleaming with faint and ghostly hues.  There is a
   small harlequin opal set into the inside of the band.  The gem seems to separate
   two written phrases: EX NIHIL SUM and IN NIHIL SUM.  You estimate its value at
   about six thousand nine hundred gold.
      It is in perfect condition.
      It is intermediate in size, and definitely too small for you.  It looks about
  a twentieth of a dimin across and a fifth of a dimin around.  It weighs about
  a hundredth of a dekan.

Void

Once you have joined, you can establish a connection with the void by concentrating. The command is "concentrate on stilling my mind." Note that you must meditate/rest for a couple of minutes before attempting this, and you will have to do it every time you die (as death severs your connection to the void).

Nihilsphaera

Once you have joined, you will need to craft a nihilsphaera, or orb of nothingess. Find a gargantuan spider (floor 3 spiderwood will work), and cut out its spinneret (you may need sufficient anatomy and insect lore for this step, or have an expert cut the spinneret from any spider's opisthosoma and give it to you, whereupon you can identify it with a lens). Once done, perform the command "cast nihilsphaera creo with spinneret". You will create a nihilsphaera, a sort of cosmic black hole that fuels your powers as a Glomerate.

Performing spellcasting as a glomerate uses a number of skills, which the association grants access to:

The power of the nihilsphaera allows the casting of a number of void-based affects. The syntax is "cast <name>". Only Expungere is available to start - you must increase the power of your nihilsphaera before casting the others. Note that casting difficult effects can be dangerous due to the hazards of uncontrolled void energies.

While most spells can be cast via the basic syntax, specific spells may allow or require additional clauses:

  • on <target>
  • with <catalyst>
  • without <optional steps, one or more, comma separated>

Caecus

Draw void energy from the sphere, which blinds you for the duration, but powerfully buffs tactics, fieldcraft-skills, quickness, all weapon skills, dodge, combat reflexes, precision strike, killer instinct, blindfighting, and possibly others.

Caecus: Induces in a friendly target a special blindness, one that greatly enhances one's reflexes and other senses. The steps for casting this spell -- of which the first and second are optional -- are planting the seed of Void within one's target, speaking the incantation, and expanding the target's senses by visual compression and reduction.

Usage: cast caecus on <required target>

Accelerates the compression process inherent in one's nihilsphaera, with the intention of siphoning off 
as much void energy as possible for one's own use.  The steps for casting this spell -- of which the first 
is optional -- are prepare one's nihilsphaera for compression and fill oneself with a portion of the resultant
Void.

Cumulus Viseo

Shows you an area of high extant clutter.

Cumulus viseo: Divine an especially cluttered area.  The steps for casting this spell -- of which
the third is optional -- are bringing to mind the essence of clutter, establishing a polarity
between extant clutter and Void, maximizing the polarity between extant clutter and Void, and
divining the clutter.

Decidere

Converts nearby remains into minor void energy.

Decidere: Accelerate the decomposition of any nearby remains.  (Such remains are unsuitable for
compression within a nihilsphaera.)  The steps for casting this spell -- of which the first and
second are optional -- are designating remains as to be decayed, speaking a consecration, and
returning the remains to nothingness.
Possible failures:
   "You sense an insufficiency of some kind in your tiny materially complex sphere."

Extinctus

Puts out fires. (Note: the spoiler scroll for this spell erroneously listed the steps for sapere upon discovery, and another has not been found since.)

Attempts to extinguish all burning objects in the area by depriving them with energy via 
principles of void and a modicum of water.  The steps for casting this spell are preparing to 
localize one's pleasures and pains, comprehensively localizing one's pleasures and pains, and 
purging oneself of hedonic and algetic energies.

Nihilsphaera Creo

Creates your nihilsphaera. Requires a 7/10ths dimin or larger spinneret, roughly 490 spirit, and some creative energy.

    "You cannot cast nihilsphaera creo because your fresh mutilated giant spider corpse is not a spinneret."
    "You cannot cast nihilsphaera creo because your fresh spinneret is not large enough of a spinneret."

Surdi

Draw void energy from the sphere, which deafens you for the duration, but also powerfully buffs hardiness, stamina, and recuperation.

Surdi: Induces in a friendly target a special deafness, one that greatly strengthens one's body and
mind.  The steps for casting this spell -- of which the first and second are optional -- are
preparing one's target for an infusion of aether, speaking the incantation, and reinforcing the
target's being with pure silence.
