   This skill represents the infusion of an essence of the amalgam heat into the 
   substance of one's body, reducing the harm caused by such forces, potentially 
   even to the point where exposure becomes restorative.  This is also true, to a 
   lesser extent, of extropy, elemental fire and air, and the amalgams smoke, light, 
   lightning, metal, thunder, and shadow.  One further gains the capacity to store a 
   reserve of amalgamal heat energy, in proportion to one's degree of affinity, should 
   one have access to sources of it.  However, the greater an affinity for heat one 
   develops, the more vulnerable one becomes to the amalgam cold, and to a lesser degree 
   entropy, the amalgams mud, darkness, and void, elemental water and earth, and the 
   amalgams ash, ice, and alkali.
