This is a shemagh, a scarf designed to be wrapped around one's face to provide some protection against the elements. It is exquisitely-crafted, and is composed entirely of finely-woven sandy brown wool with a very subtle, fading color gradation spanning its length.
You recognize this as a hush shemagh, favored by desert nomads such as the Maidens of the Spear. It enhances one's keenness and survival skills, especially desert ones, and in the process renders one mute.
