Standard Information

The ruins of a great cathedral lie somewhere amidst the vast marshes. Unravel the terrible secret which brought about its destruction and avenge those who died in the name of good and order so that their souls may finally be at rest.

   Estimated Mental Difficulty Rating: Six
   Estimated Physical Difficulty Rating: Nine
   Estimated Danger Rating: Nine
This quest was created by Snark.

The Cathedral is in the marshes of Castigon. It can only be entered by walking west from location (24, -8, 0) (global: 24, -89, 0). Once inside it is very easy to accidentally leave the Cathedral.

When you can only spot an island with a completely collapsed ruin on it, it's currently not possible to enter the Cathedral. (Someone other might have done this quest shortly before?)

Spoiler warning: information below includes details, such as solutions to puzzles or quest procedures, that you may prefer to discover on your own.

Bring a shovel.

Look for a shield in the graveyard area to assist by searching for it. A ring can also be found on a skeleton in a belltower.

Search both belltowers thoroughly before doing anything else. Don't be afraid to break doors that you find (alternatively, you can get the key from a skeleton to unlock the door).

Tempting as it is, don't pull on the rope in the southern belltower's ground floor the first time you see it, as this will summon the huskling of Yog-Sothoth at the altar of Yehovah.

There are 2 ways to deal with the huskling:

1) You can lead the huskling over to the secret well and "push the disc" until it covers the well that traps the huskling forever then rush out of the temple. The well can be found by searching through the floor ("search floor") in the room with the skeleton in the north belltower. Go down all the way and you'll see another skeleton with the key to the door at the top of the south belltower and the well. Having the shield (which is Malkyr's shield) and ring at this point will help with damage output by the huskling.

2) Kill the huskling yourself and rush out of the temple. This is only advisable for someone who can handle the damage output given by the huskling and can put out enough damage themselves to hurt the huskling.

Once you have dealt with the huskling and are outside, quest will complete and you get an automatic 100% exploration as well.
