Vargan is a small village in Gardagh centered around one of the many gladiatorial combat arenas. The inhabitants show considerable affinity with the wolves that they train to fight in the arena. Due to their resident Cryoturge, they also bear a penchant for items that deal cold or ice damage.

• The arena is a series of viewing stands built around a small lake which is kept constantly frozen by the vigilance of a local ice mage. The dangers of this particular arena are not only in the opponents, but in the slippery footing and possibility of falling through the thin ice. The main combatants are usually wolves or Barbarian Gladiators. The wolves make full use of their speed, lighter weight (to keep from falling through the ice while luring a heavier opponent to an icy defeat), and pack tactics. From time to time, it has been known that ice wraiths, yeti, valkyrie, ice drakes, and other creatures from the frozen lands of Wintercrest are used in the arena.

• The arena offers a lot of potential XP. Some of the opponents are highly resistant to some forms of damage, and most tend to run when severely wounded. Aurast weapons work well against all opponents here.

• Healer named Therin is located on (-1, 5, 0) offering wide range of assistance in the name of Odin, including curing afflictions of body of mind and removal of curses

• The following items are specific to Vargan:
  • Snowflake amulets for OUP can be found in the Cryoturge's shop.
  • The archery store stocks cryomer and ice bolts, but these do normal damage.
  • Cryomer spears
  • Cryomer gauntlets that do variations of cold damage
