Melanaster

"Melanaster," a portmanteau of Greek and Latin with the intended meaning "dark star," is used in the real world to describe a particular species of jellyfish (Google Image Search). Within the world of Lost Souls, it describes a form of esoteric solid substance of psionic origin. Melanaster is almost exclusively found as a part of the composition of the Void Shell armour type, and is strongly associated with the lloigor Nyarlathotep.
