This spell will attempt to magickally charm ordinary birds into becoming one's permanent companions. The osprey's call, though not at all spectacular, is one of the most pleasing and spiritually useful spells, as wandering without companionship can be a terrible fate. It is also a well-known and much-loved hallmark of tavern-frequenting mages.
