This skill represents the infusion of an essence of the amalgam shadow into the substance of one's body, reducing the harm caused by such forces, potentially even to the point where exposure becomes restorative. This is also true, to a lesser extent, of entropy and extropy, elemental earth, air, fire, and water, and the amalgams magma, smoke, mist, and mud. One further gains the capacity to store a reserve of amalgamal shadow energy, in proportion to one's degree of affinity, should one have access to sources of it. However, the greater one's affinity for shadow becomes, the more one becomes vulnerable, in some degree, to the amalgams crystal, eskara, light, darkness, lightning, void, steam, salt, nitre, ash, heat, cold, thunder, ice, acid, and alkali.
