Given that Hall of Legends redirects to the Losthaven article, I decided to make a separate article for the Mirror, to write about retirement.
the antechamber of the Hall of Legends [n, s, e, w, u, d]
This is the antechamber of the Hall of Legends, a place of marble pillars and soaring ceilings, celebrating the great heroes of the world of Lost Souls. To the east is the passage to the Lesser Chamber, to the west lies the Greater Chamber, southward is the Grand Chamber, and an intricately carved spiral staircase of marble leads upward to the Chamber of Legends and downward to the Basement of the Hall of Legends. The area is permeated by a thick, intense field of dark gray vapor and an intense, vibrant umber radiance. The area has a few thin wisps of blue-white radiance within and around it. The area is reasonably well-lit. Dreamy, Khing, a gogtzul, Dora the guard, and Olag the curator of the Hall of Legends are here. You see the Mirror of Mists. Obvious exits are north, south, east, west, up, and down.
The Mirror of Mists is an artifact of considerable power and shrouded origins. It is known to be able to translate a being into a far-removed plane of existence said to be a paradise, but that only the great may survive the process, and that the power may only be activated by one well-versed in the ways of the Mirror, devoting many years to it. The Mirror has passed from hand to hand over time, with many a wealthy patron hiring sages to unlock the secrets of the mirror and bring them to paradise -- and many a wealthy patron failing to survive the transition. Physically, it is a two-yare-high mirror in a silver frame, the images appearing in it strangely obscured and distorted by shimmering mists. It is permeated by an intense, vibrant shimmering radiance. You estimate that it is worth something upward of nine thousand gold. imins long, eight and three tenths dimins wide, and twenty-one dimins tall. If there is one present capable of manipulating the Mirror, and you are of sufficient stature that you believe yourself capable of surviving the transition, you may 'retire' to paradise. The Mirror of Mists was created by Chaos; the source code was last updated Mon Apr 04 04:20:43 2016. The material silver was created by Lost Souls; the source code was last updated Tue Mar 15 02:18:33 2016.
Passing through the Mirror retires your incarnos. This can't be undone. You may need to be at least level 50. The former incarnos will appear in a line above your finger/whois, "Formerly incarnated as name, name...". Fingering/Whoising the incarnos' name will say, more or less:
Retired from the world of Lost Souls to paradise at level X He/She/It/Sie was a member of Y, Z, W (the incarnos' guild[s] and associations), and was a devout follower of K, A (deities). Mate of C (in the case he/she/it/sie was married). He/She/It/Sie left Lost Souls on in-game date.
The statues/whoises/fingers conserve everything from the incarnos as he/she/it/sie was, including now-defunct guilds and deities such as "Champion of Chardros", "Chardros", "Sentinels" and measurings such as "eight feet one inch tall".
