Activation of the rune gevel generates an aura of necromantic energy that acts to drain the life from those coming into contact with it as they attack you, channeling that energy into you. The darkness of the aura also aids in stealth activities. The unfortunate side effect of the aura is that its capacity for drawing in energy makes the user more vulnerable to all manner of magickal energies.
