Theurgy

The discipline of working magick using quintessence, the primal energy of the universe, through the mediation of divine forces. This is done in a style similar to the more ordinary working of magick using mana, but quintessence is a tremendously more powerful medium, dangerous for mortals to even come into contact with. The difference between theurgy and thaumaturgy, the other skill for working with quintessence, is that thaumaturgy is conducted essentially on one's own, as opposed to the divine intercession that characterizes theurgy. In this way, thaumaturgy and theurgy correspond very roughly to evocation and invocation, respectively.
