Cartographer's Association - Is there one already?

  • Channel would be really useful for people double checking locations etc (like, does the hut on chicken legs actually move around?)
  • What benefits/costs would there be?
    • Maybe lockpicking to get into locations that are otherwise hard to?

A cartographer's association wouldn't be a bad option. We have a mechanic in place for creating a map on a scroll, but it is old and would need a lot of updating. It looks to have been created before we got specialties. We also have panoramicon and various guild abilities that generate maps on demand. It's what I used for the map of Mordo/Skarlan you've been using. --Bladestorm 16:17, 17 May 2011 (EDT)

Yeah, the in-game maps on scrolls are nifty; I just like having a reference in the browser...plus this will let me hotlink all the maps together so it'll be possible to hop from area to city to continent etc, which just sounds fun. I'd like to make the formatting co-compatible so that the maps in the game and in the browser look similar, but I'm not quite sure how to accomplish that. XD

Oh and I figured out that it might be a good idea to just wait till I die to do a lot of mapping, since I shouldn't have to worry about encountering nasty things or staying in one place for too long that way.

I actually bought a panoramicon and was quite disappointed that I didn't have the requisite skills to use it; sad day. But so that's where that map came from! It's quite different from a lot of the other ones, so I was wondering. -FreshAlacrity 17:54, 18 May 2011 (EDT)
