Inspired by a line in the Deep Whisperers page, which states "Byundi kept saying unkind things about not being able to join" I made this page to record those and more chats, idle chats, she may say.

She is highly charismatic and interesting.

(I will likely forget about this and never EVER update it [it's here in the case I do], I may need a DW character too, to get them all)

This is a female svirfneblin with pale blue skin, black hair, and glowing
green eyes. She seems lost in constantly-changing thought, peering curiously
at everything in her surroundings. You recognize her as Byundi the Psychic
Scientist, a curious svirfneblin obsessed with research into the nature of
telepathic communication and the psychological ramifications of thought
interchange. She maintains a loose association of test subjects who call
themselves the Deep Whisperers, a group of telepathic volunteers who allow
themselves to be experimented upon psionically and gather scientific data
regarding the results in exchange for access to the ability to psionically
bond to a familiar.
She looks about six and three fifths dimins tall, two and seven twentieths
dimins wide, and three fifths of a dimin front to back.
   She is in good shape.
She wears a diminutive cotton trenchcoat around her body, a diminutive
cotton pants on her legs, a diminutive cotton blouse on her upper
body, and a diminutive pair of white rubber and cotton shoes on her feet.
This is a starved-looking male wikatz with black fur and glowing green
eyes. His eyes take in his surroundings with a piercing, even analytical
gaze.
He looks about five and a tenth dimins long, one and three tenths dimins
wide, and two and eleven twentieths dimins tall.
   He is in good shape.
He wears a small cyan wool tailwarmer on his tail.

[OOC Marcosy] Byundi's voice echoes in your mind, " So some crazed maniac,
yelling
[OOC Marcosy] something about how I had ruined his life or something, just
tried to kill me.
[OOC Marcosy] I wasn't hurt, but I can't say the same for that huge stack of
documents
[OOC Marcosy] containing data from Wargotu. When this sort of thing happens,
I try not to
[OOC Marcosy] let it get me down. A quick shock to the ol' hippocampus and
I'm right as
[OOC Marcosy] *zzt* ".
[OOC Marcosy] _
[OOC Marcosy] [21:10] [Byundi lost 1025 units of data from Wargotu]
Byundi exclaims, " I love working on my theories, particularly when I get
to work with kitties. So cah-yooote! " in Nanomi.
Byundi asks Subject 8, " Is it OK if I experiment on your brain, Subject
8? " in Nanomi.
Byundi exclaims, " Want to do some science? You'll probably survive! " to Subject 8 in Nanomi.
Byundi bounces around.
Byundi seems to concentrate intently.

You concentrate on transmitting information about your experiences to
Byundi.
Byundi's voice echoes in your mind, " Alright! You're coming through loud
and clear. I'm getting a lot of good data across the connection. Hang on,
let me just make some notes... Ouch, that sounds like it was very painful.
Interesting! Okay, I've gotten everything down. I'll look forward to your
next transmission! Have fun! ".
You feel suffused with a sense of profound satisfaction and intellectual
keenness as you experience some of Byundi's scientific joy at your findings.

Yes, you can get the transmission message before the first message Byundi sends you.

Byundi's voice echoes in your mind, " Hello? Is this thing on? Can you
hear me? Well, of course you can't 'hear' me, but you know what I mean. Or
at least I hope you know what I mean! Anyway, it looks like the telepathic
link was successfully formed, and you didn't even die or have any kind of fit
or anything! So, hey, whenever you get a chance, concentrate on transmitting
information about your experiences to me! If you could do that periodically,
that'd be just super. Thanks again! ".
You concentrate on transmitting information about your experiences to
Byundi.
Byundi's voice echoes in your mind, " Okay! Um, I'm not quite sure how to
say this, but this data just really isn't sufficient! Perhaps you could go
out there and have some kind of a life-changing experience, or maybe read a
really good book with your familiar, or maybe just get into some wildly
dangerous situations? You know, the usual! Anyway, good luck! ".

Looks like you can transmit after gaining any amount of XP:

Byundi's voice echoes in your mind, " Alright! You're coming through loud
and clear. I'm getting a lot of good data across the connection. Hang on,
let me just make some notes... Incidentally, if anyone asks you about my
whereabouts recently, just lie. Interesting! Okay, I've gotten everything
down. I'll look forward to your next transmission! Have fun! ".
Byundi's voice echoes in your mind, " Alright! You're coming through loud
and clear. I'm getting a lot of good data across the connection. Hang on,
let me just make some notes... Did you feel any itching sensations afterward?
Interesting! Okay, I've gotten everything down. I'll look forward to your
next transmission! Have fun! ".
You feel the sense of satisfaction and intellectual keenness suffusing you
renew and strengthen.
Byundi's voice echoes in your mind, " Hey, check this out! I was
reviewing some of the data you sent me and it looks like I can unlock some
forgotten experiences within your mind! You probably shouldn't think too hard
about why you forgot them, though. Better off that way, I'd imagine. ".

You gain some XP.

If you don't have any telepathy at all, she says:

Byundi says, " You don't seem to possess
any telepathic ability at all! I'm afraid you would not be at all suitable to
participate in my experiments. " to you in Anglic.

If the join attempt fails, this happens:

You experience a strange sensation within your mind of ebb and flow, a
sort of rhythmic pulse composed not of sensation but rather of modes of
thought.
You suddenly feel something going dreadfully awry, as the pulse of
thoughts within your mind becomes a disordered jumble of chaotic sensation as
a sensation of searing pain erupts through you and you feel your mind becoming
badly damaged by the uncontrolled psychic energy.

You will get a mental disorder.

You might suffer a lot of head damage, to the tune of 73.7 HP, or even more. Probably that's where the "your head might explode" warning comes from. Though as it has been demostrated, you don't necessarily die with such damage. Thereafter, she says:

Byundi exclaims, " Uh oh. Are you okay?
I'm afraid it looks like you aren't quite suitable for a psionic bond.
Perhaps if you were to open your mind a little and be a little more sensitive
and caring towards others? This process doesn't usually work when the subject
is a stuck-up conceited jerkface. Not that you are one, I mean! " to you in
Anglic.
