The Tower of Time is an area within Leah's Hill, marked by a rusty ruined tower. If we could go back in time to when the tower was being completed, we could ascend its numerous floors and maybe reach the top. We would do this by solving the tower's puzzle. This is a heavy spoiler zone for an entirely optional puzzle that no-one has fully completed.

Entering the tower

The tower normally looks like a rusty ruined tower. However, some abilities can allow you entry into the tower proper:

Spoiler warning: information below includes details, such as solutions to puzzles or quest procedures, that you may prefer to discover on your own.
  • Aliavelyrae at level 20 and high chronophrasty can fully extend their temporal aura to reset rooms. Doing so within the tower will take you to the tower proper.
  • Aligned can summon Zrael inside the tower to take them to the entrance.
  • Every area reset, one lucky character is pulled to be allowed access. This is of all characters that exist, so is quite rare. The message looks like:
You feel a strange force shifting and moving you oddly, as though you are slightly out of sync with the rest of existence.

Solving the first puzzle

Once you are in the tower, you will see a plaque on the wall, written in some strange language. What now?

Spoiler warning: information below includes details, such as solutions to puzzles or quest procedures, that you may prefer to discover on your own.
  • The plaque is written in Tikonos, a language from the future sent to the past or maybe the other way around.
  • Tikonos can only be learned from Zrael.
  • For those that don't have the skill it reads something like:
 The Tower is the Tower.

If you would ascend, make the answer known.

Speak the answer; say the answer to oneself; or touch the answer.

But beware; foolish or hasty attempts carry a price.

To begin, the answer is the beginning.
  • There is an hourglass on every floor, with time slowly ticking down. Run out of time, you get kicked out, and it has a several day lockout before you can try again (probably 1 week).
  • So to get to the next floor, the answer to the first puzzle iiiis:

say the answer is the beginning

Solving the rest of the puzzles

The plaque on the first floor tells you everything you need to know to start ascending the tower, and part of the challenge is figuring out what that means. Heavy spoilers ahead if you do not want to try this.

Spoiler warning: information below includes details, such as solutions to puzzles or quest procedures, that you may prefer to discover on your own.
  • Every room has several (3-7) items in them, as well as an hourglass. Run out of time, you get kicked out, with a several day lockout before you can try again. Answer incorrectly, the time will move faster. There will also be a scroll or a plaque, with random clues like:
The fir hat is a sin that corrupts the spirit, to the woe of all who take no heed.
  • It's a bit confusing at first, and I was thinking it was like a [Knights and Knaves] logic puzzle where you had to determine which of the clues is the true clue. It's actually much simpler. Every clue, from reading the scroll, examining the items, and reading the items, is true. You have to determine their meaning.
  • There are three ways to answer - touching an item, saying the answer is item, or subvocalizing the answer is item. If the hourglass goes red, you got it wrong, green you got it right and a stairway to the next floor will appear.
  • The clues tell you what the answer is not. For example, the clue above tells you that this answer is not subvocalizing the answer is hat. Once you have figured out all the wrong answers, you use what time you have left to try to find the correct answer, out of the possibilities left. There might be many possibilities left, or there might just be one possibility. The more possibilities there are, the less harsh the penalty for getting an answer wrong. You should get enough time to squeak through all the available correct possibilities, though sometimes it cuts a little thin.
  • One thing about the answer you give - it is very specific about what it wants, and it will not tell you. If the object is a pair of leggings, the answer might be 'say the answer is a pair of leggings'. If the object is a pair of pants, the answer might be 'say the answer is pants', not pair of pants. It will count wrong guesses against you, so this is often where you will fail, by not knowing what specifically it is asking for.
  • Another possibility is that the clue doesn't give the object, it just gives the material and colour - 'the brown pine one' - and sometimes there are multiple objects with that material and colour. Often by filling in the rest of the clues you can determine which of the objects the clue is referring to, but sometimes you will not know. I'm assuming this step is to make it harder to automate.

Reward

It isn't known. The tower extends over 119 floors, and each floor takes about 2 minutes to manually solve. The floors stay the same over a reboot, so you can take many tries in the same reboot if you have multiple characters that can enter, and fill in the answers to where you were, but otherwise you start from floor 1 every time. The top floor is not known.
