This is a spacious and austere library with walls of black marble. Hundreds of black mahogany bookshelves are arranged tastefully throughout the vast hall, and are packed full of many ancient books. A thick dark red velvet carpet of very high quality covers the floor, rendering the open space surprisingly quiet.

Notable Attractions
- a dusty, long-neglected lecture hall [out]
- This ancient, cluttered hall seems as though it has not been used in many years. An oppressive, sinister pall hangs over this room. An intricately-carved oaken lectern stands along the north wall on a raised half-dais. An assemblage of shoddy dust-covered pine chairs is scattered about the room. Sheets of dust-covered paper are scattered everywhere. The area has a few thin wisps of blue-white radiance within and around it.
- The area is reasonably well-lit.
- The only obvious exit is out.

- A plain pine bed lies along the north wall. A pair of heavy iron shackles is secured to the wall near the bed. The decor in this small bedroom is very plain, a stark contrast to the opulence of the main library. The area has a few thin wisps of blue-white radiance within and around it.
