The rune vilix is used to generate a tendril of necromantic energy similar to that created by the rune festiglis, but with a different purpose. This tendril, to function properly, needs the level of access to the victim's life-force that is only possible with one already mortally wounded; if applied to one not in such a state, the effect will be negligible. To the proper target, however, it is entirely deadly as it violently sucks the remaining life from the hapless foe and transfers the energy to its wielder.
