  • Location: 1, -1, 0 in Leah's Hill
  • Occupation: Linguist
  • Look:
This is an aethoss with brown bark, brown wood, light green leaves, and glittering green eyes. Sie possesses a comfortable,
languorous aspect and seems quite contented. You recognize hir as Arvan the Keeper, a kindly old aethoss who enjoys dozing in the
park and listening to all the words of the world. As a result, sie has gained significant skill in the arts of linguistics and many
languages, both common and obscure. Sie has a few thin streamers of glinting pattern and a webwork of sparkling light within and
around hir.
Sie looks about fifty-six dimins tall, four and seven tenths dimins wide, and four and seven tenths dimins front to back.
  • Info:
Arvan is an instructor and responds to the following verbal commands:
Availability inquiry: Arvan, what tongues of the world will you speak to me?
Cost inquiry: Arvan, what would a lesson in <subject> cost?
Instruction request: Arvan, speak to me of <subject(s)>.

The tower is strange, but not unknowable. Often, I have seen it become more
or less ancient than I had previously observed, and I have even seen it become
whole for brief moments, although no one else seemed to notice. Perhaps if we
wait and observe together, it may change again. %#
Arvan whispers, #% Have you not guessed his secret? He is a man out of
time, displaced in the flow of moments. As such, he cannot be harmed for more
than an instant, and always returns to such wholeness as he possessed in the
past. Only a weapon with similar properties, such as his own blade, could
harm him, but his effect encompasses it as well, returning it to his grasp
just as it restores him to wholeness. I suspect that one would have to move
out of time, as Vargas does, to obtain the same blade at a different point in
time, at which point he might be vulnerable; fortunately for our fair city,
such a thing is quite clearly impossible. %#
Arvan whispers, #% Dragons are ancient creatures, and many share my love
of the spoken word. However, such creatures are vain and prone to brutality,
being predators as they are. It would be better for the world if their time
