Apollo provides a number of different services, including illumination, healing, the bringing down of the fury of the sun in battle, and a particularly valuable lending of his knowledge together with a bit of psyche-enhancing power.

Leolla here!
Apollo is one of the king daddy invocations.
He'll show you to how to do ALL SORTS OF THINGS when you invoke him.
I've often considered joining the Appollonian association just to squeeze more benefit out of this one. Really.
Update! Further research has indicated you can't join Apollo and then team up with Eris. Boo-hoo =/
Maybe the other way around, though.
- Apollo only heals you if you're out of battle. Otherwise, you end up with a cool light/fire attack (and maybe bleed to death in the process.) Also has a significant cooldown period -- on the plus side though, you won't get thrashed by Apollo for invoking Him too often (unlike some other gods.) -- Porphyra
End of spoiler information.
