The Aesir are a race of humanoid beings native to the plane of Asgard. In appearance they resemble the humans of Prime, created as they were in the All-Father Odin's image, though it is said that they possess incredible physical and mental prowess compared to their 'mortal' counterparts.
Asynjur enjoy incredibly long lifespans and age slowly, but do not suffer as many long-lived races do in their capacity to learn -- many of their ilk are inclined to eagerly delve into scholarly pastimes or the arts, often alongside more martial pursuits which their powerful bodies are well-suited to.
Due of their segregation from the rest of the universe, stories of Asynjur presence on the Prime is the stuff of legends. Every aspect of their lives becomes celebrated as myth, and their deaths are earth-shaking events of widespread mourning and immortalization in religion, song, and poem, for it is said that an honorable Asynjur who dies ascends to godhood, never again to return to the realm of the living.
