Aislynn's Door
From LSWiki
Aislynn has a cabin on a small island in Gardagh, with a cellar that is locked by unusual means. Figure out how to unlock the cellar door.
Go to -37, 4, 0 in Gardagh, (Global 125, 166, 0) and enter the cabin.
Read the hatch heading down with a word inscribed. This can be done simply via "read hatch aloud".
You must speak that word in the language it is written, without an accent. The word will then change to a new random word and language, finally unlocking after the 15th word.
Possible languages are any spoken, ranging from the very common (Anglic, Norska) to the practically unknown (Quaraak, Keetieki).
BTW: for those who group and are nice, ONLY THE PERSON WHO SAYS THE LAST WORD will get quest credit - however, if the hatch is closed it will immediately reset its locks.
Zygefgh says: I had 240 linguistics and 40 in nearly every single language and still could not open this fucking hatch. Probably requires a lot of dumb luck so you don't get overly-difficult languages.
[OOC Twilight] you can't just crank linguistics, a few of the harder languages you need to specialize in [OOC Twilight] aislynn is specialized in ci-xitid, cilaghai, enochian, erisian, k'telikix, keetieki, kyotsugo, ngaathgl, sekkcha, shan dareis, thari (bonus spec for native) and xitid [OOC Twilight] and has 6 specs in linguistics
In the modern day, ask around or attempt to acquire from random load a Potion of Linguistic Cunning (appears as a hot pink potion when not identified), then in addition ask a competent Aedarene to cast Comprehend Languages on you. It normally does the trick.
Note: The cabin seems to dispel Comprehend Languages. The potion works, but you need to get a bit lucky with the languages. Training for the harder ones pays off.
2025 Note: I don't think the cabin dispels Comprehend Languages. I was able to get the buff and then teleport to the cabin and complete the quest. The languages I got were pretty standard: Aelvalie, Zadjalin, Kathdax, Ularu, Caladan, Dethek, Anglic, Takargu, Xhax, Sperethiel, Angrak, Norska, Assarith, Dazask, Hithal. Here are what my language skills were and some possible relevant skills: https://ada-young.com/pastebin/4DVrzrRK. All learned languages were just from standard trainings (a few with Zrael). Never joined Crazy Linguists, but that will help with intro'ing some languages. Can always leave once they're trained up. --Temur 06:33, 30 August 2025 (EDT)
