Regions are separated by Areas by virtue of size. The surface of Aedaris is divided into 16 x 16 regions consisting of 40 x 40 x 5 grids. Each of the main 16 x 16 is considered a region, while anything within these Regions being referred to as Areas. For example, Almeria is considered a region, while Liathyr is an Area inside of that region. Regions are also referred to colloquially as 'maps' or 'main maps'.
