Set Resolve

General-Use Combat Setting
Usage: set resolve to <percent>

This setting determines when you will attempt to flee from combat or, if possible, conciliate with a foe. When you lose more health on any of your vital limbs than your
resolve percentage, you will act to preserve your life. If you believe your opponent will accede to conciliation, you will attempt that; otherwise, you will flee, generally
preferring to go back the direction you came from. This is far from a sure thing, but it can help you survive. Your courage, discipline, and tenacity skills normally determine
how high your resolve can go; the more courageous, disciplined, and tenacious you are, the longer you can stay in combat. However, if you have or acquire the fearlessness trait,
you can set your resolve level to whatever you like, though it becomes somewhat less reliable since you have to think about fleeing instead of it being an emotional response. If
you are both fearless and analgetic (without pain), however, you will stay in combat regardless of your resolve. Some combat modes may also have a minimum resolve level that you
will automatically use while in those modes.

See Also: show resolve, report resolve, flee, show maximum resolve, switch extended fleeing, start fleeing, courage,
discipline, tenacity, aphobia, analgesia, conciliate
