Overview
- Most potions must be imbibed to gain their effects.
- Very few potions can be used more than once.
- Most potions leave a glass vial in your inventory after use. These glass vials will be destroyed if thrown (so as not to leave trash lying around).
- Certain Dietary situations prevent one from drinking a potion.
- Sanguivore
- Incendivore
- Ametabolic
- There are several methods for overcoming these dietary prohibitions.
- Ioun of Nature's Reverie
- Activating this Ioun, among other things, will make you a Photovore.
- May only be activated by a race considered organic in nature.
- Bond to a Swan
- At a high enough bond strength, you will become a Photovore.
- Join The Aligned
- The form Osmosis will allow you to drink most potions, but not all.
- Join Ordo Ignis Aeternis
- The spell Fire Wine will make any consumable item capable of being eaten by an incendivore. The spell Immolate will make you an incendivore, if you are not one already.
- Once Ring Wielders become ametabolic, the only apparent way it can be temporarily reversed is by using the rune tlemariz. Note that this will only restore your natural diet, and seems to interfere with other means of changing your diet.
- Ioun of Nature's Reverie

Potions of Alignment Infusion
A small cork-stoppered green glass vial containing a pearlescent liquid. This is a pearlescent potion of alignment infusion, a potion which aligns the spirit of the drinker toward whatever idealistic principle the potion contains. This process alters the drinker's ethical and ordinal outlook to a significant degree, as well as infusing the drinker's body with energies related to the principle contained therein. Long-term use of such potions can permanently affect the drinker's beliefs and predispositions as well as their fundamental nature. This particular pearlescent potion of alignment infusion appears to be aligned to the principles of goodness. It is permeated by a dim auroric radiance. You estimate its value at about one thousand five hundred gold.
- Added in change 6723.
- Comes in four varieties, aligning with good/evil and chaos/order. Rumors of a secret fifth and sixth variety are likely overstated.
