Help

Ioun stones are a class of magic-imbued gem noted among scholars of the arcane arts for their ability to pass on a variety of effects and abilities to their possessors. According to psuedo-erudites, the late Tamarack the Enchanter rediscovered the art of imbuing precious gems with the iounic enchantment while digging through the remains of the ancient Istax Empire. Unfortunately, through the vagaries of strife and time, that secret is feared to be lost once again.

Info

You may activate and deactivate an ioun stone by tapping it.

Ioun stones depend on gem quality to determine their boon strength.

Types, Attributes and Ranges

There are many types of ioun stones throughout the land, some increase attribute scores, modify various traits, and provide boosts to various skills.

The strength of an ioun's boons depends entirely on the quality (or grade) of the gem enchanted. This does not mean that any particular grade will always have a set bonus. Gem grades are much like equipment sizing; "small" can be worn a range of sizes and similarly a gem's grade of "fair" will vary in strength. The bonuses granted will lie within the range a particular quality of gem encompasses. As such, two gems of the exact same grade may grant slightly different amounts of their particular bonuses. (Will update with ioun grades soon)

Please add more, and modify the ranges as found

Gem to Possible Type Map

Please do not add iouns made through the charm of certain bonds. It is unclear whether iouns that are player-enchanted have definite material determiners. An exotic gem type is very unlikely to manifest an unheard of enchantment. It is far more likely that such gems gain random enchantments.
