Due to a particular pact or agreement between the ancestral inhabitants of Avalon, a small number of individuals were granted the ability to take upon themselves a handful of powers of the fey to help them in protecting the realm. Lacking the immortality of some of the fey races, the mortal counterparts of this pact were granted the ability to pass these powers down through their bloodlines. Not every generation will have Fianna amongst them, and the abilities tend to skip several generations at a time. By some catalyst known only to the fey granting these powers, those gifted to become Fianna show up during times of change or oppression to help protect and guide their kinsmen. | Due to a particular pact or agreement between the ancestral inhabitants of Avalon, a small number of individuals were granted the ability to take upon themselves a handful of powers of the fey to help them in protecting the realm. - | Many generations of shorter lived races can pass in a single lifetime of most fey beings. The original pact between just a handful, when passed down through the generations, resulted in beings far and wide being able to call upon that ancestral tie. Though the original mortals of the pact were humans, the pact has been seen in garou, sleestak, and sekh. How this has come to be is unknown, but after centuries, only a handful of races did not display at least one individual capable of becoming a Fianna. Those few races that were excluded have some history with the fey races in the dawn of time. Demonic races, no matter how little demonic blood remains in their veins, are excluded entirely from the Fianna. So too are direct descendents of the original fey, since their ancestors were the part of the pact that was granting the powers used by the Fianna. Part of the calling of the Fianna is to uphold to oral traditions of the original fey, which is expressed in rhymes and tales older than written language. Where the uninitiated hear a simple folk tale, the Fianna hear the history of the worlds. With the advent of written language and the subsequent use of books to convey history, the oral tradition of the fey fell into disuse. These books became tools for those in power to manipulate history to their liking, changing facts and all but eradicating the original way of life of fey creatures. As such, the fey that empower the Fianna have a particular dislike for advocates of certain religions who actively sought to reduce the fey's influence upon the world by changing the names of holy days and places, and by subjugating the truth of the fey's existence into mere chidren's stories. | + | Many generations of shorter lived races can pass in a single lifetime of most fey beings. The retelling of the fey's true history is a sacred trust, and as such, poetry is a paramount skill for the Fianna. These warrior poets are also noted for their courage and imagination. It is their imagination which fuels the powers granted to them by their fey pact, and only through their imagination can they believe that the tales they heard as a bedtime story may have some truth to them. | The retelling of the fey's true history is a sacred trust, and as such, poetry is a paramount skill for the Fianna.
Many generations of shorter lived races can pass in a single lifetime of most fey beings. As such, the fey that empower the Fianna have a particular dislike for advocates of certain religions who actively sought to reduce the fey's influence upon the world by changing the names of holy days and places, and by subjugating the truth of the fey's existence into mere children's stories.
The Fianna have a certain metaphysical rapport with one another which includes the ability to communicate regardless of distance and language via the 'fianna' communication channel. For further information, please refer to 'help fianna spells'.

Fianna Spells
Fae Bolt
Knowledge Requirement : has at least 50 points among imagination skill, poetry skill, legend lore skill, and telesmatic weapon skill
Rating Formula : 30% of poetry skill plus 50% of imagination skill plus 50% of evocation skill
Rating Minimum : 15
Rating Maximum : 650
Energy Costs : ten points of spiritual energy and ten points of endurance
Process to Activate Fianna Spell : imagine a bolt of fae energy <target>
This fae ability summons forth a tiny, stinging needle of pure magickal energy to strike at an opponent. Targetting on this ability is all but non-existent, since the needle itself reacts to hostile intent towards whoever summoned it. Summoning this needle outside of combat will yield no results, and summoning it in combat will allow it to lash out at an opponent.
Fae Grace
Knowledge Requirement : has at least 50 points among imagination skill, quickness skill, combat reflexes skill, and somatesthesia skill
Rating Formula : 50% of poetry skill plus 75% of imagination skill plus 50% of enchantment skill
Rating Minimum : 55
Rating Maximum : 650
Energy Costs : forty-five points of spiritual energy and sixty-five points of endurance
Process to Activate Fianna Spell : imagine the speed and grace of a faerie in flight
The closeness of the bond between the Fianna and the Fae can be concentrated into brief bursts. These short bursts are known as Fae Grace. Under such an effect, time moves differently around your form, and you will find your movements faster and much more graceful.
Glibness
Knowledge Requirement : has at least 50 points among imagination skill, savoir faire skill, haggling skill, and linguistics skill
Rating Formula : 40% of poetry skill plus 60% of imagination skill plus 50% of enchantment skill
Rating Minimum : 15
Rating Maximum : 650
Energy Costs : forty points of spiritual energy and ten points of endurance
Process to Activate Fianna Spell : imagine a silvery spoon
The first thing the Fianna are known for is their passion for life. A close second is their natural gift for gab and glibness of tongue. This fae ability enhances a Fianna's already prodigious social abilities, making them truly entertaining and persuasive.
Powrie's Strength
Knowledge Requirement : has at least 50 points among legend lore skill, massive blow skill, load bearing skill, and massive exertion skill or has at least 10 points in sanguiphrasty skill
Rating Formula : 50% of poetry skill plus 45% of enchantment skill plus 50% of imagination skill
Rating Minimum : 50
Rating Maximum : 400
Energy Costs : seventy-five points of spiritual energy and fifty-five points of endurance
Process to Activate Fianna Spell : imagine the savage blood strength of the powrie
Among the various fae beings, there is a particular type known as the Powrie. These odd fae creatures are known for their freakish strength for their size. This spell grants the caster the proportionate strength of the powrie. The process of acquiring this strength is an ordeal, and few can manage to maintain this extreme level of strength for any period of time. It is best used when a sudden, short burst of strength is needed, for it tends to fade as quickly as the sun chses away the morning mist.
Wee Size
Knowledge Requirement : has at least 50 points among imagination skill, poetry skill, and legend lore skill
Rating Formula : 25% of poetry skill plus 50% of imagination skill plus 60% of enchantment skill
Rating Minimum : 15
Rating Maximum : 100
Energy Costs : sixty-five points of spiritual energy and ninety-five points of endurance
Process to Activate Fianna Spell : imagine myself smaller
The fae have long been referred to as the 'wee folk' due to their generally diminutive size. This Fianna spell grants the Fianna the ability to reduce their size down. Upon initial use of this ability, the size change may not be much. At higher proficiency in this ability, the Fianna will be able to shrink down to a very diminutive stature. This change in size does not reduce the user's strength at all. This ability is very useful for getting into small places normally prohibited by one's normal bulk.
