Overview
- Item infusion is the process of infusing items with a particular type of energy, replacing some of it's composite mundane material with more exotic substances.
- The advantages of infusing items is that some of the properties of the item are derived from the materials from which it's composed. Most notably:
- Colour.
- Weight (Usually a reduction).
- Durability (Usually an increase, affects defensive properties of armour).
- Flammability (Usually a reduction).
- Does NOT currently affect weapon damage or damage types.
- Some items such as Pibrits, and Eolian Anklets have other properties partially derived from their material composition. (Anklets give bigger boost when chaos infused but also drain more sp. Pibrits restore much sp/end/hp when infused with anything).
Broad infusion types available to players
Chaotic
- POEE can infuse items by channeling certain energy types
- Some empathic bonds give access to a charm. Pyx? I don't know.
- Spending time in the Exoma can incur many different random events, many of which are quite dangerous. At least one of these events will result in held/worn/inventory items being partially chaos infused. (Interestingly, this has been known to infuse things which shouldn't be infusable)
- Vials of Lanmorathic poured on items will infuse to an extent.
- Results in items partially composed of Xorakas.
- Some weapons are known to destroy objects of chaos on contact. This may include items composed partially/primarily of Xorakas.
Ordered
- Aligned can use piles of gems using the Lattice form
- Some empathic bonds give access to a charm. Possibly snake.
- Vials of Melosia poured on items will infuse to an extent.
- Results in items partially composed of Lexoth.
Goetic
- Aedarene can perform the Nature's Infusion Benison.
- Results in items partially composed of .
Sephirotic
- Oldschool clerics could bless items. Maybe not possible anymore.
- Elicat consorts maybe? probably just my imagination.
- Results in items partially composed of .
Qlippotic
- Reapers placing items on their altars and invoking Kragath has been known to infuse.
- Results in items partially composed of .
Fiery
- OIA can do this I think? maybe it's a bond power Tigers or Phoenixes I don't know.
- Results in items partially composed of Pyrax.
Limited infusions
- Some powers are capable of infusing only particular types of objects. These are generally regarded as lame and bad, except for carrion bird bonds, which are rad.
Shadow
- Carrion bird consorts can infuse arrows?
- material type: Shadowfax.
Darkness
- Panther consorts can infuse small thrown items?
- Carrion bird consorts can infuse arrows?
- material type: Darkstuff.
Derp I dunno
- specific targets
- sources
- material type
